Week 15-17 - Presentation and Feedback

THIS IS A MANDATORY ATTENDANCE WEEK

The questions are:

What was good about my presentation?
I though my presentation was probably quite weak, and a little boring. I assumed my audience knows very little, and then I gave them all the information they need. I have not practiced my speech for my presentation. My speech can be very difficult not being able to have a normal conversation with my students in class. I really like the
visuals in my presentation match well with the information I communicated, and they helped carry the speech.

What needed to be improved?
I need to improve my tongue in different ways so I can pronounce it more clearly. I will concentrate on the rest of the word because as long as the person I am speaking to can understand the word my saying. I have a hard time pronouncing certain words I often speed up and try to stumble through them resulting in muddled speech.

Week 15 - Part.D of the exhibition work

D: Group project feedback
Briefly describe the following

1. Before the exhibition starts (before the set up)
Describe briefly how you will interact with the team while setting up the exhibition and how you will assist the exhibition

I will try and accept communication skills.
These include: I will like to give support with my students by using computer skills as I can explain them. Effective verbal communication skills include more than just talking. Verbal communication encompasses both how we deliver messages and how we receive them. When I first meet someone, my form an instant impression of them, based on how they look, sound and behave, as well as anything I have heard about them from other people.

I will try and deal with conflict in a positive way using strategies studied in class. These include: when we meet someone and hear them speak, my form a judgement about their background, and likely level of ability and understanding.
Respect: I realise that I will need to listen more carefully to ensure that I understand what they are saying to me.

2. After the exhibition starts (after the set up)
Describe briefly and evaluate your own contribution to the exhibition and team performance

I feel to different skills and know-how from my peers can help me want more from myself, engaging everybody in a game plan of acquiring knowledge. We’re all achievers on the inside. Sharing knowledge practices pushes me to become better at what I do, while driving me at the same time to contribute with my own insights.

Week 11 - Part A of the exhibition work

Part A: Plan the project

1. Name the exhibition:
My name for our exhibition is "Urban Jungle". I think this is an expression as the pictures chosen for the exhibition use the buildings and architecture in the sky as well as long exposures and styles that is added interest and atmosphere to our architecture.

2. Date of exhibition:
I have decided on this semester 28th May - 4th June 2019.

3. Suggest a space for the exhibition and Logistics of this space:
I think an architecture photography that is great, as these structures look very different in the day as they do in the night. Their meaning and mood changes. The same goes for weather conditions, where a winter scene of the one central park will differ greatly to the same image shot in spring. Use this to our advantage and show the structure off in different scenarios.
Within it, we will find luxe lobbies, expansive residents' gymnasium and a delightful private Pool Terrace with heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi. Step outside to explore Central Park's own shopping and dining choices, and the gallery spaces, laneway bars, restaurants and boutique shopping of Chippendale.

Week 9 - Presentation Group work/power point

Group Work

Describe ONE Benefit of group work:

Describe ONE Challenge of group work:
  • Group work promotes an active learning process, participation and interaction among peers. When students come together to complete a project, each gets exposed to diverse perspectives, a pool of knowledge and a opportunities to gain a better understanding of classroom discussions. While college group work offers benefits, the quality of a finished project depends on each student’s contributions.Describe FOUR skills necessary for group work. source: https://classroom.synonym.com/challenges-group-work-college-1194.html
  • Skill listening:
Listening is the ability to accurately receive and interpret messages in the communication process. It is key to all effective communication. Without the ability to listen effectively, messages are easily misunderstood. As a result, communication breaks down and the sender of the message can easily become frustrated or irritated (Skill You Need).Good listening skills also have benefits in our personal lives, including: A greater number of friends and social networks, improved self-esteem and confidence, higher grades at school and in academic work, and even better health and general well-being. Source:https://www.skillsyouneed.com/ips/listening-skills.html.
  • Skill Writing:
Writing skills are an important part of communication.  Good writing skills allow you to communicate your message with clarity and ease to a far larger audience than through face-to-face or telephone conversations (Skill You Need). We might be called upon to write a report, plan or strategy at work; write a grant application or press release within a volunteering role; or we may fancy communicating our ideas online via a blog.  And, of course, a well written CV or résumé with no spelling or grammatical mistakes is essential if we want a new job. Correct grammar, punctuation and spelling are key in written communications.  The reader will form an opinion of you, the author, based on both the content and presentation, and errors are likely to lead them to form a negative impression. Source: https://www.skillsyouneed.com/writing-skills.html.
  • Skill Reading:
Reading skill refers to the ability to understand written text. It is advisable to develop this skill at early age of schooling. When students comprehend or understand written text, and combine their understanding with prior knowledge, they are able to perform the following three reading-comprehension skills (Tadesse 2017). Source: https://www.researchgate.net/post/what_is_reading_skill_and_its_significance.
  • skill Speaking:
Speaking is an act of making vocal sounds. We can say that speaking means to converse, or expressing one's thoughts and feelings in spoken language. To speak often implies conveying information. It may be form an informal remark to a scholarly presentation to a formal address. Source: https://www.slideshare.net/zeal_eagle/speaking-skills-24884424

ERGONOMICS
1.What is Ergonomics?
It is the science of designing the workplace, keeping in mind the capabilities and limitations of the worker. Poor worksite design leads to fatigued, frustrated and hurting workers. It is also part of WHS (Work Health Safety).

2.List three examples of good ergonomic practice:
  • Adjust the height of your chair so that your feet rest comfortably on the floor.
  • A desk with a matte surface helps minimise glare.
  • Dock the laptop into a desktop computer at a suitable workstation.

Week 7 - Excursion 2 Darling Harbour

EXCURSION 1

Darling Harbour
My favourite photos:

1.What is it?
These photos were taken by me about urban architecture.

2.What style is it?
it is high/low angle and colour/shape.

3.Why is it style you've chosen?
It includes buildings and architecture subjects. It can have very powerful effects. I can use this technique to enhance the details in the sky and clouds, darkening the mood.

4.Why is it your favourite?
Make a habit of looking up and down as I walked around Darling harbour. I found interesting angles, shapes, and patterns when I looked at architecture from different points-of-view. I also shoot in a variety of weather conditions in order to enhance the effects of light and shadow on the atmosphere of each image.
