Week 3 - Photography/Digital Image

Pop Art - My photo

 Original Photo

Pop Art

1.What is it?

This type of photo is called pop art. It is a style of art based on simple, bold images of everyday items, such as these dogs mood, painted in 2x2 colors.

2. Where does it come from?

I created the first with : https://photofunia.com/results/5c6b3272089f7ae90e8b4578

3. Why is it the style you've chosen?

Because it is characterized by techniques and themes drawn from popular mass culture like comic books, advertising, and mundane cultural objects. Pop Art intended to employ images of popular in contrast to elitist culture in art, emphasizing the mundane elements of any given culture, usually through the use of irony.

Black and White

PORTFOLIO TASK 1

What is Black and white?
It is an image where all color has been removed (either in the digital process or through the choice of film). It consists of shades of gray tone that generally go from dark (black) to light (white).

What is it useful for?
It is a good choice when the color in a photo serves only as a distraction from the message you want the image to convey.
I love black and white photography, it is part of how I take photos and I couldn't imagine photography without it. I've chosen the use of black and white as Tone, contrast, lines, shape, form, textures, portraits and detail.

Five relevant photos:

Shadow are very versatile in your black and white photographic efforts. a shadow can be a shape, or leading line, and become a major contributor.

Shape can become a defining element of a highly successful black and white photograph- anywhere in the tonal range.

Sometimes, just the odd positioning of a shape can help visual interest. If this photograph depicted the shape of the building in a standard point-of-view, it would be much less interesting.

Including "contradicting" shapes in your black white photograph is a strong attraction to viewers!

This portrait displays awesome tonal range.
